Guelph Dance Announces Cancellation of Spring and Summer Events

Guelph, ON (April 15th, 2020) – Due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and the measures taken by all levels of  government, including the City of Guelph’s cancellation of all scheduled programs, performances and events at City facilities through to July 5, 2020, Guelph Dance must announce the cancellation of the 22nd Guelph Dance Festival, which was scheduled to take place from May 29-31, 2020. Additionally, the Guelph Dance team also announces the cancellation of the Summer Arts Explosion Camps, originally scheduled to take place June 29th to July 24th, 2020 at the River Run Centre.

With deep sadness, Guelph Dance joins countless artists and arts organizations across Canada and the world who have had to cancel or postpone their activities. We recognize the great need for art and creativity in this trying time and are committed to supporting the work of the artists we present and with whom we collaborate. Over the next few weeks, we will use social media to feature the work of those artists who were invited to take part at the 2020 Guelph Dance Festival and the Arts Explosion Camps. They will share with us their work, their COVID-19 survival tips as well as news and, on occasion, activities we can do at home.

If you are not a current follower of Guelph Dance on social media, please join us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @GuelphDance.

We wish everyone in the community the very best in the weeks ahead as we navigate through these challenging times and very much look forward to sharing with the community our 2020-21 season of programming.

About Guelph Dance Established in 1998, Guelph Dance is a nationally recognized leader in contemporary dance, offering a platform for professional, new-generation, and youth dance artists to share their vision, push creative boundaries, and engage community audiences.
