Guelph Dance Biographies
Catrina von Radecki, Artistic Director
Catrina is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Guelph Dance Festival, which was founded in 1998 with Janet Johnson. She is also the Co-Artistic Director of Guelph Youth Dance and is the Managing Director of the the GYD training program. Catrina graduated with a BFA in dance from Concordia University (Montreal) in 1992. She has studied and taught at the innovative European Dance Development Centre in Arnhem Holland and Düsseldorf, Germany, as well as independently in Montreal, Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph. She has danced for the internationally renowned Compagnie Marie Chouinard (Montreal), Dance Alliance (Germany) and various independent choreographers (Montreal, Guelph). Catrina was awarded the YMCA/YWCA Women of Distinction award in 2008 for her contribution to Arts and Culture in Guelph. She recently finished the process of becoming certified in Open Source Forms.
Adriana Rosselli Londoño, General Manager
Adriana is coming to Guelph Dance with a rich background in arts administration. She has worked with many organizations in Toronto and Kitchener, including; MT Space, Aluna Theatre , and the Media Arts Network of Ontario. Adriana has recently made Guelph her home and is excited to be working and living in the community. With her diverse background in many areas of the arts and culture we look forward to having her on the Guelph Dance team.
Leslie Fisher, Manager of Outreach and Development
Leslie has taken on the role of outreach and development manger in the fall of 2017. Leslie graduated with a BFA in dance from Concordia University (Montreal) in 2000. Most recently been the Assistant Stage manager for the festival for the last 6 years, as well as the Assistant to the General Manger for the last 6 months. She is the assistant to the program director for Park’n Dance; a dance program for people with Parkinson’s disease as well as a French reading tutor for the UGDSB. She is a true believer that everyone regardless of age or ability should be dancing.
Janet Johnson, Co-Founder
Janet co-founded Guelph Dance in 1998 with Catrina von Radecki. Janet is also co-founders of the Guelph Youth Dance Training Program. Janet is a graduate of York University’s Dance Program, received her masters in dance in 2010, and became certified in Conditioning-with- Imagery and Gyrokinesis in 2014. Janet also choreographs independently through her own Portal Dance Project, founded in 2011. Currently Janet is working on her own creative work with her company Portal Dance Project, teaching Gyrokinesis and is the co-artistic director of the Guelph Youth Dance Training Program and Guelph Youth Dance Company.
