Wild Rabbit Dance Projects

Toronto, Ontario

There she was 2017
Choreographer: Jane-Alison McKinney

There she was is a solo choreographed and performed by Jane-Alison McKinney. The piece is defined by two visual chapters: an androgynous, grounded, and embodied figure; contrasted with an exaggerated, feminine, towering monster. It’s a reflection on chaos and escape, carried by a charged physicality with strength at its core. McKinney’s performance is driven by risk, rigour, and heart: “if the impossibility of dancing in six inch stilettos doesn’t grab you, her closing words will.” [The Buzz Mag]
