Arts Explosion Camps weave together the energy and curiosity of children and the skillful teachings of local and national professional artists to create a fun-filled, pressure-free exploration of the arts.

Programs & Cost

Arts Explosion Camps offer three program for campers ages 4-13. Campers be register by the day or week.


Campers ages 6-13 (Grades 1-8)
9:30 am - 3:30 pm
single day $45 | full week $195

This is a mixed program including four 1-hour workshops in a variety of art forms including dance, theatre and visual art. For campers seeking a more intensive dance experience, see Dance-focus program below. Campers will be separated into two groups based on age.


Dance-focus program
for campers ages 10-13
9:30 am - 3:30 pm
single day $45 | full week $195

This program is for children with at least two years of dance experience. Campers take two dance workshops in the morning at Temple Studios, which encourage their creative breadth and skill. In the afternoon, Dance-focus campers join other campers of a similar age to take arts workshops in other forms.

This half-day camp offers a variety of arts activities including dance, visual art and storytelling, tailored to the younger artist.

Registration Information


To register for the 2012 Arts Explosion march Break Camp:

  1. Purchase your ticket(s) through the River Run Centre Box Office.
  2. Download and complete a Camper Registration Form for each camper attending. We strongly recommend downloading and completing them form(s) ahead of time. No campers can be left in our care without a completed form.

Completed forms can be submitted by:

  • Bringing them on the first day your camper is attending.
  • Mailing or dropping them off at our office
    • 123 Woolwich Street, 2nd Floor | Guelph, ON | N1H 3V1
  • Scanning & e-mailing them to office.gcdf [at] gmail.com with "Camp Registration" as the subject


New this year: If your camper is registered for more than one 2012 camp, only one form is required. If you register for one or more of the Summer Camp dates (July 9-13 or 16-20, 2012) at a later time, please let us know which days you have registered for and we’ll update your form.


Drop-off & Pick-Up

Dance-focus campers should be dropped off at Temple Studios (42 Quebec Street) between 9:15 - 9:30 am, unless pre-camp care is required. All other campers should be dropped off at the River Run Centre by 9:25 am.

All campers should be picked up at the River Run Centre at 3:30 pm.

If you require an early drop-off or late pick-up, please refer to our complimentary before and after camp care below.


Complimentary Before and After Camp Care

This service is offered free of charge from 8:30 am - 9:30 am & 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm daily. Campers must be pre-registered, as space is limited. To register, please call the GCDF office at 519.780.2220.

Dance-focus campers will be taken to Temple Studios at 9:15 am.


What to Bring to Camp

Please ensure your child brings the following items to camp with them each day:

  • A nut-free lunch & two nut-free snacks
  • A labelled water bottle
  • Loose-fitting clothing that allows for freedom of movement and possible paint stains
  • Weather-appropriate clothing: part of lunch hour will be spent outside, so children may get muddy, snowy or wet - and anything in between.

Subsidies

The GCDF will offer two subsidized spaces in each full-day program and one in the half-day program for each camp. These spaces have been made possible by donors to the Monica Davies Camp Scholarship Fund. Additional space may become available through the Kids-to-Camp Fund through the Guelph Community Foundation.
